Intro to Circus Arts Workshop

Step Right Up! Ever wanted to run away with the Circus? Now you can! This 60 minute introductory workshop of Circus Arts will feature two of the Circus Apparatuses offered here at Roc City Circus. An Instructor will lead you through the basics on Aerial Fabric (Aerial Silks or Hammock) and one of our metal apparatuses (either Aerial Hoop or Static Trapeze) Kids ages 7-11yrs are welcome with a participating adult. All skill levels are welcome to join in the fun.

Fern Collective Performance "I Hope You Are Fed"

Fern Collective is a group of five multidisciplinary circus artists and creators who have and are continuously growing up together though circus. Fern Collective was birthed from the troupes found at Circus Culture in Ithaca NY, and is nurtured and monumentally supported by Circus Culture founder Amy Cohen.

Our work and play has evolved through our 7 years of being in community together, through creation of shows and performances, and a plethora of learning and teaching both circus and the many technical roles that go into show creations such as rigging, lighting and sound, and stage crew.

At our collective core is the desire to share the joy of creation, to be honest, to ask questions, to take care of each other, and to explore and express our existence through circus. We hold appreciation for both the aesthetic and the intellectual; emotional and technical exploration.

Show Description

What does it mean to be present in an ever changing world? Fern Collective welcomes you into an aerial world of their own devising, full of beautiful, dangerous, thought provoking, generous, and tangled messes. Using acrobatics and aerial creation, I Hope You Are Fed is about exploring individuality and connection to a whole, what propels s forwards and keeps us moving together. I Hope You Are Fed will have you feeling, thinking, and questioning long after you leave us. Show duration: 45 minutes

CIRCUS CAMP

Recommended for ages 7 and up!

Your kids can run off with Roc City Circus (and still be home for dinner). This Full Day, 9a-3:30p, Camp is full of Circus Fun. Each day kids will fly with the greatest of ease on Rochester’s only Flying Trapeze. Kids will also learn Aerial Silks, Aerial Hoop, Aerial Hammock, Static Trapeze, Balance Fun, Plate Spinning and try out our mini Circus bikes. For more added fun to the camp we have added a Zip Line and Rope Swing!

CIRCUS EXTRAVAGANZA

Recommended for ages 7 and up!

This 2 hour Party has it all and is the BEST deal we offer!!
Our Circus Team will introduce your party to one hour of Circus Aerial Arts and one full hour dedicated to Western NY’s only Flying Trapeze!
Our Circus Arts include: Aerial Silks or Hammock and Aerial Hoop or Static Trapeze. Adults also have the option of Bungee Fitness.
$285 includes 6 participants, each additional $30, max 10.
$525 includes 14 participants, each additional $30, max 20.

BIG TOP AERIAL

Recommended for ages 8 and up!

Feel the excitement of being part of the BIG TOP CIRCUS. This 90 minute party starts with a fun circus warm-up, then on to experience a variety of our Circus Apparatuses. Our instructors will take the children (or adults) for a spin on the Aerial Hoop or Static Trapeze & finish up by getting all wrapped up in the Aerial Hammock or Aerial Silks.
Price $270 includes 8 participants, each additional $30, max 12.
Contact us if you have a larger group. Does not include flying trapeze.

Circus Carnival

Recommended for ages 4-7!

Let’s get a little silly and jump through hoops like a lion, juggle scarves, create a parachute circus tent. Learn spinning plates, feather balancing, take a spin on the Aerial Hammock and finish your circus adventure on the Static Trapeze. This 75 minute party is recommended for kids ages 4-7 years.
Price $230.00 includes 8 participants, $25.00 each additional up to 12.
Just let us know if you want a larger group.

Bungee Workshop

Recommended for weights between 90-300 lbs.

This 1 hour low impact workout is a great way to bring your group together. No experience necessary and is for all fitness levels. You will harness up and bounce, dive, and fly your way through a fun-filled workout.
Private Party size 5-10 participants. $25 each.

Flying Trapeze Workshop

Recommended for ages 6 and up.

No need to search anymore for a unique adventure because this is the one and only FLYING TRAPEZE in the region.
Join our Flying Trapeze Circus Team in the Big Top and experience the most legendary act in the Circus! We can host your Party or Team Building Event and keep everyone safe. No experience necessary and you can have up to two hours depending on your party size.
Private Party size 5-10 participants.

Want your party with catching? At the end of class you will fly over to one of our instructors to be caught hand to hand in the air. Just let us know.
Price for 1 hour party $30 each participant; 1.5 hr party $45 each participant; 2 hrs with Catching $300 includes 5 participants, $50 each additional participant; Max 10 per class. Contact us for availability.

What to Wear

Participants should wear comfortable fitted clothing. Remember you might be going upside down!
You will also be asked to remove your shoes when entering the Big Top. Bare feet or socks only on the Circus floor.
Everyone must sign a waiver to participate. Children must have a waiver signed by their parent or guardian. We recommend completing these in advance by using the waiver link on our website. We are unable to allow participants without waivers to participate, but they are welcome to watch.
